Child/Adolescent Therapy

Growing up is hard! The only consistent part of childhood and adolescence is change–change in the world around us, in our bodies, in our families, and our friends. Sometimes kids need a little extra support to make sense of their ever-evolving world and develop tools to confidently navigate new circumstances. Whether they are having a hard time with friendships, feeling afraid of social situations, feeling unsure of themselves and their ability to succeed in life, therapy can be a helpful tool to support them along the way.

At Ascend, we believe that therapy for a child is generally more effective when a parent(s)/caregiver(s) is involved. So often, a child struggles not due to one specific experience or circumstance, but due to a variety of interconnected factors. These interconnected factors are best unraveled and understood with other, supportive members of the child’s family who can learn with them along the way.
